Vol. 318 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sheep Numbers.

2.

andMr. Timmins asked the Taoiseach the number of sheep in the State at present and the number ten years ago.

The number of sheep in the State is provisionally estimated at 3,375,600 in June 1979, the latest date for which information is available. The estimated number of sheep in June 1969, was 4,006,200.

What is the source of the information?

The Central Statistics Office.

Is it accurate?

It is very good.

Maybe they missed a sheep down in Connemara.

Is the Taoiseach pulling the wool over our eyes?
