Vol. 318 No. 10

Written Answers. - Emergency Services for Old People.

40.

asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that health boards are at present providing adequate emergency services for old people at risk and if he will establish an emergency task force along the lines proposed by the ALONE organisation.

: I am satisfied that health boards provide adequate services of this kind. As regards the emergency task force proposed by the ALONE organisation, the Eastern Health Board, in cooperation with the Dublin Corporation, now operate a procedure for prompt attention to unsatisfactory living conditions of elderly or disabled persons. I understand that this arrangement is working satisfactorily.
