Vol. 318 No. 10

Written Answers. - Telephone Service .

243.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a telephone kiosk for the housing estates at Ballinorig, Tralee, County Kerry.

: A telephone kiosk to serve the needs of the housing estates in this general area will be provided as soon as possible after the necessary consents to a suitable site have been obtained.

244.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for an applicant (details supplied) in County Dublin who paid an installation fee last September.

: Provision of service for this applicant was, it is regretted, unavoidably delayed. He will be given service within the next fortnight.

245.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the up-to-date position concerning the installation of telephones at Brooklawn, Merrion Avenue, Blackrock, County Dublin, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

: The provision of service for applicants in Brooklawn is dependent on an underground cabling scheme which it had been planned to have carried out about now. Because of the volume of urgent repair work on damaged and faulty cables requiring attention, however, it will not, regrettably, be possible to have the cabling scheme attended to until later this year. The telephones will be installed for the waiting applicants as soon as the cabling scheme is completed.
