With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 22 and 23 together.

The percentage of GNP allocated by Ireland to official development assistance (ODA) in the period 1977-80 was as follows: 1977—0.14 per cent of GNP (£7.31 million); 1978—0.17 per cent of GNP (£10.56 million); 1979—0.2 per cent of GNP (£14.51 million); 1980—0.19 per cent of GNP (£16.22 million).

Actual disbursement of official development assistance in the period 1977-79 was as follows: 1977—0.12 per cent of GNP (£6.27 million); 1978—0.13 per cent of GNP (£8.27 million); 1979—0.18 per cent of GNP (£13.29 million).

The disbursement figure for 1979 is at this stage provisional, as the final outturn for the year is not yet to hand.
