Vol. 319 No. 4

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following orded: Nos. 6, 7 and 8 (resumed). Private Members' Business will be taken from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., No. 24 (resumed).

Does the Taoiseach intend to name the new Ministers of State?

It is my intention to name them tomorrow and I have asked the Chief Whip to get in touch with his colleague with a view to arranging a time.

When they are named will it be a condition of their appointment that they resign from local authorities if they are members of such?

We can discuss that when I am announcing them tomorrow.

The Deputy could raise this at some other time.

Has the Taoiseach any news from the Minister for Education about the publication of the White Paper on Education? It is long overdue.

The White Paper, as I have told the House already, has been revised. We are now doing a second revision on it and it will be published quite soon.

Would the Minister indicate what that means? Will it be published before the summer Recess?

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to raise on the adjournment of the House this evening the effects of Rule 10 (2) of the Rules and Programme of the Department of Education for the day National Certificate Examination.

I will communicate with the Deputy this afternoon on this matter.

Will we be going home for Easter without any idea as to the date of the publication of the Boundary Commission report on constituencies?

As far as I am aware at the moment the answer is yes.

Will the Taoiseach be going home without being aware?

Could the Taoiseach relieve the agony and give us some idea of the date of publication?

The Deputy is one of the people on that side of the House who, I hope, would not be detrimentally affected.

Will the Taoiseach go through Easter without being aware?

As soon as I am aware the House will be made aware.
