Vol. 319 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kerry Flooding.

177.

asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the serious loss of production on farms in the catchment area of the Akeragh and Banna river in County Kerry due to annual flooding of these rivers and if he will make funds available, independently or in conjunction with EEC, for a relief scheme for the area.

I have arranged to have a survey made of existing drainage conditions on the outfall of the Akeragh-Banna catchment and subsequently to have a study made of the problem. Pending completion of the survey and study it is not possible to say what action might be taken.
