Vol. 319 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kerry School.

185.

asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the condition of the national school at Toureenard, Knocknagoshel, County Kerry, and when the necessary repairs will be carried out.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to him on this matter on 31 January 1979.

Toureenard national school now has an enrolment of 21 pupils. It is considered the Toureenard national school should be amalgamated and that future provision of educational facilities in the area should be on this basis. I am, accordingly, not prepared to sanction any public expenditure on the renovation or rebuilding of Toureenard national school.

Works of maintenance on this school will continue to be carried out, as required, by the Office of Public Works.
