The Galway County Council's proposals for the Athenry sewerage scheme must be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for water and sewerage schemes, the number of such schemes in progress or approved for construction at the present time, including several major water supply schemes in the council's area, and the priority rating of the scheme. I cannot say when I will be in a position to convey a decision to the local authority on the contract documents for the scheme.
