The Garda authorities state that the current strength at these stations is the maximum that can be provided at present having regard to overall resources and other demands on Garda services. The question of increasing the strength at these stations will, however, be considered according as additional manpower become available. Moreover it must be borne in mind that the city centre area, being part of the Dublin Metropolitan Area, has available to it substantial resources of manpower and transport which are not based at the stations mentioned.
