Vol. 319 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parole Representations.

60.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will make representations to the British authorities about parole for persons (details supplied) from County Donegal.

I have not received representations recently concerning the three persons named by the Deputy. Where it is considered that the facts warrant it, the cases of individual prisoners in prisons in Britain are raised with the British authorities. Any prisoner or his immediate family who feel that the facts are such as to warrant intervention on my part should raise the matter with me directly or through the Embassy in London.

I would welcome any information which the Deputy may wish to communicate to me on these cases and an indication of the nature of the representations which he would like me to make.

The remaining questions will appear on next Tuesday's Order Paper.
