asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if any vessels are operated by any organisation under his control, such as the boards of conservators, if so, the present use, displacement, principal dimensions, complement, year of construction and estimated life span of all such vessels and if he will give details of any plans for any further vessels or replacements.

For the purpose of carrying out the functions assigned to them the boards of conservators and the Inland Fisheries Trust operate a number of vessels. The board's vessels are used primarily for patrol work in connection with the enforcement of the fishery laws and the trust's vessels are used in connection with fishery development work being carried out on rivers and lakes.
