Vol. 320 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Southern Cross Route.

20.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has had any proposals from Dublin County Council for the further development of the Southern Cross Route from Firhouse to Harold's Grange, as approved by the elected members of Dublin County Council.

As I have already informed the House, in reply to a question on 31 May 1979, I have approved in principle proposals of Dublin County Council for the construction of a new road between Red Cow on the Naas Road and Harold's Grange, and of the council proceeding with detailed planning for the route. I have provided road grants totalling £1.885 million towards the cost of schemes on the section of the route from Naas Road to Firhouse Road.

There are no detailed proposals before me for the section of the route between Firhouse Road and Harold's Grange. The formulation of such proposals is a matter for Dublin County Council.

Questions Nos. 21 to 23, inclusive, are postponed.
