There is no record in my Department of a claim for payment in respect of reconstruction work for which a grant of £200 was allocated under the old scheme of grants. Such a claim should have been received by 31 January 1980 and the work should have been completed by 31 December 1978. A grant of £25 in respect of a sewerage installation was paid on 9 February 1979.

The delay in paying a grant in this case is due to the unprecedented number of applications for housing grants received in my Department this year.

There has been no delay in this case. My Department were informed in March 1980, that the work had been completed. An inspection will be carried out as soon as possible with a view to the payment of the grant, if in order.

There has been no delay by my Department in this case. Payment will be made, if in order, following inspection, when the applicant notifies my Department that the house has been satisfactorily completed and is occupied by him.

The latest date for claims for payment of grants allocated under the pre-July 1977 grants schemes was 31 January 1980. As a claim for payment of the balance (£125) of the grant in this case was not received by that date, I regret that payment cannot now be made.
