Registration under the Animal Remedies (Registration of Manufacturers, Importers and Wholesalers) Regulations, 1980, is required to assemble information about all firms engaged in the manufacture, importation and wholesaling of animal remedies in the country. With this information I will be in a position to inform these firms of proposed directives on veterinary medicinal products which the EEC are likely to adopt in the near future and to give them an opportunity to gear themselves to comply with the requirements of the directives when they become obligatory. The directives will require that each veterinary medicinal product must be licensed and will set out the conditions under which these products are manufactured.
