Vol. 321 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Leitrim Bridge.

17.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the dangerous bridge at Tullaghan, County Leitrim, which is the cause of many accidents and when work to straighten out this part of the national primary route will commence.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to Bundrowes Bridge on the N15 at the Leitrim-Donegal border. No proposals have been received by me for work at this location.

Have no proposals ever been received by the Minister's Department for dealing with this very dangerous bridge?

That is a far reaching question.

No. The only information I have is that it is understood that a consulting engineer is at present preparing final designs for a new bridge. Lands for the approach roads have been obtained by compulsory purchase order but I have not received any proposal in the Department.
