Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Proportion of State's Population in Dublin.

6.

asked the Taoiseach the percentage of the Irish population resident in the greater Dublin area; and if this figure represents the highest concentration of population within a capital city area of a Community member state.

The results of the 1979 Census of Population show that the population of Dublin city and county represents 29.2 per cent of the total population of the state. It is true, in so far as can be determined from the available information, that this percentage represents the greatest concentration of population in a capital city area of a Community member state.
