Vol. 321 No. 5

Written Answers. - Donegal Water and Sewerage Schemes.

355.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the necessary finance will be sanctioned for the sewerage scheme at Gweedore, Co. Donegal.

There are no proposals for this scheme at present before my Department.

356.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the necessary finance will be allocated for the group water scheme at Brinaleck, County Donegal.

The Brinaleck Group Water Scheme is dependent for a source on the Rosses regional headworks augmentation scheme which is due to be completed this year, and on an extension to Brinaleck. This extension scheme includes provision for duplication of a trunk main and the provision of a booster station and reservoir at Brinaleck and when constructed will provide a source for the Brinaleck and Knockfolla group water schemes. Contract documents for the extension scheme have been approved by my Department. The question of financing the work will not arise until tenders have been accepted.
