Vol. 321 No. 5

Written Answers. - EEC Turkey Restrictions.

388.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the action he proposes to take to mitigate the damaging effects of the EEC ban on our traditional New York dressed turkey trade from August 1981.

The basic EEC legislation which specifies the restriction on the sale of New York dressed turkeys has recently been amended. This amendment will enable small scale turkey producers who account for the vast bulk of our New York dressed turkey output to continue to sell New York dressed birds after August 1981.
