Vol. 321 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dublin New Schools.

46.

asked the Minister for Education if he has made a decision on the proposal mentioned by him in reply to parliamentary question 275 of 31 January 1979; the identity of the applicant and the area for the projected school; if he has received any other proposals for new private secondary schools in the greater Dublin area since 31 January 1978; the identity of the proposers and the areas involved.

The application referred to in question No. 275 on 31 January 1979 was from the Educational Development Trust in respect of Rosemont Park School, 74 Morehampton Road, Dublin 4. My Department have granted provisional recognition to this school as a secondary school. A catchment area has not been specified for the school.

An application has been approved for the provision by the Salesian Fathers of a new boys' secondary school in Celbridge, County Kildare.

Since 31 January 1978, two other applications for recognition as secondary schools have been received. One application has been refused. The other application is under consideration in the Department at present. It would be inappropriate in the circumstances to give the information requested by the Deputy concerning these applications.
