Vol. 321 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Dublin New School.

75.

asked the Minister for Education if he will open the new post-primary school at Balally, County Dublin under an interim board of management if he fails to get agreement before September 1980 from the interests involved on a management structure.

I do not anticipate further difficulty in relation to the opening of the proposed community school in Balally in accordance with the agreed deed of trust for such schools. At recent meetings of the Advisory Council on Post-Primary Accommodation in the Greater Dublin Area it was generally agreed that the decision in relation to the type of school to be provided in this area was one for the Minister for Education. I have decided that in the particular circumstances of the case the proposal for the establishment of a community school should be proceeded with and I have notified the interested parties of this decision.

I do not consider, accordingly, that the question arises of opening the school under an interim board of management.
