As I indicated in my reply on 11 March 1980 to a question by the Deputy, my Department are examining the question of the legislative measures which would be required for the introduction of a national registration and approval scheme for pesticides. The measures we have in mind are broadly similar to those contained in the New Zealand legislation referred to by the Deputy.
