Vol. 321 No. 10

Written Answers. - EEC Agricultural Prices.

21.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the proposal by France to introduce unilateral measures to maintain the incomes of its own farmers in the event of no agreement being reached on EEC agricultural prices before 1 June 1980; and if he will state his attitude to such a proposal and its likely implications for Ireland.

The Council of Agriculture Ministers agreed on agricultural prices for 1980-81 on 29 May subject to ratification by the Governments of the member states. It is expected that this procedure will be completed today and that all Governments will confirm the Council agreement.
