Vol. 322 No. 1

Written Answers. - Kerry Flooding.

329.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the serious damage being caused to the Walsh estate. Kerries West, Tralee, County Kerry, due to coast erosion; and, if so, if he will now make money available to restore the protection wall to prevent future flooding of this holding.

The problem here is one of flooding requiring repair of existing embankments and is outside the scope of the Coast Protection Act, 1963. The Commissioners of Public Works have no funds at their disposal which could be made available towards the cost of the work in question.
