Health Committee to consider Health Identifiers Bill 2013

The Sub-Committee on Health will conduct the committee stage of the Health Identifiers Bill 2013 at its meeting tomorrow, Thursday, 1st May 2014.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “The Health Identifiers Bill 2013 provides the legal basis for Individual Health Identifiers for health service users and unique identifiers for health service providers. With this legislation, every single patient and health service provider will be given their own unique health identifier/number that will work across the health service, both public and private. Tomorrow, the Committee will have the opportunity to discuss proposed changes as set out in the legislation as published.”

The meeting will start at 10am in Committee Room 2, Leinster House tomorrow, Thursday, 1st May 2014.
