Vol. 322 No. 8

Supplementary Estimates, 1980. - Vote 37: Forestry.

I move:

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £4,053,000 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of December, 1980, for salaries and expenses in connection with Forestry, and for payment of certain grants-in-aid.

Vote put and agreed to

At this stage we have a total of 20 Estimates and no speeches. Questions can be asked and the Minister can respond to the points raised.

I do not think that is exactly correct. The Opposition may make a statement and in the course of that statement they can ask questions. It will not be in the form of Question Time.

I did not say that. I said that the Minister would respond. There will be no opening speech. The Minister would respond to any point raised. The Opposition can raise as many points as they like so long as they remember that there are 20 Estimates.

You did say, Sir, that he could respond to the questions raised, or is it points?

Either questions or points in the time available.
