Vol. 322 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Westmeath Garda Station.

44.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that Multyfarnham Garda Station, County Westmeath, has had no sergeant for a long time; when a sergeant will be appointed; when he will take up duty in Multyfarnham; and the reasons for the delay in appointing a sergeant.

Decisions as to the detailed deployment of members of the force are matters primarily for the Garda authorities, who have informed me that the filling of the vacancy for a sergeant at Multyfarnham station was not considered to be a priority having regard to the needs of other areas but that it is expected that a sergeant will be available to take up duty at Multyfarnham in about a month's time.
