Vol. 322 No. 11

Written Answers. - Shannon Aircraft Refuelling.

189.

asked the Minister for Transport if, while taking into account the major boost to the economy of the airport at Shannon, County Clare, from the refuelling of Russian and Eastern bloc planes there, he will guarantee that no military aircraft or plans carrying military personnel, are fuelled or serviced there.

All aircraft duly authorised by the appropriate Irish authority to land at Shannon airport are allowed to refuel there. I do not propose any change in this position.
