asked the Minister for Energy the amount of subsidies paid to the Dublin Gas Company for town gas in (i) 1979 and (ii) to 31 March 1980.

asked the Minister for Energy the amount of subsidies paid to Limerick Gas Company for town gas in (i) 1979 and (ii) to 31 March 1980.

asked the Minister for Energy the amount of subsidies paid to Cork Gas Company for town gas in (i) 1979 and (ii) to 31 March 1980.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 196, 197, and 198 together. Details of the subsidy paid to the three gas companies during the periods mentioned are as follows: Dublin Gas Company— £4,423,692 paid in 1979 and £1,232,513 paid in the period 1 January 1980 to 31 March, 1980. Limerick Gas Company—£167,320 paid in year 1979 and £43,614 paid in the period 1 January 1980 to 31 March 1980. Cork Gas Company—£750,234 paid in 1979 and £248,374 paid in the period 1 January 1980 to 31 March 1980.
