: The date of application was May 1975. Service could not be offered to the applicant at that time as no spare cable pair was available, the cable pair which had been used to give service to the previous subscriber having been already re-allocated.
Because of the volume of other urgent engineering work in the district and earlier applications, which had to be attended to meanwhile, it was not possible to offer service to this applicant until recently.
