3.

asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the serious threat to the educational advancement of the students involved, he will intervene directly or use his good offices to resolve the dispute at Thomond College, Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I will take Questions Nos. 2 and 3 together.

Efforts to resolve this dispute have been successful. In the circumstances I do not consider that a statement from me is required in relation to it.

When can we expect Thomond College to be reopened fully to students?

I expect it will be opened immediately, and I want to put on the record of the House my gratitude to Deputy Collins for his help and constructive approach to this.

I thank the Minister.
