(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on the progress of the new general hospital at Beaumont, Dublin; the cash allocation for this hospital to-date; and the amount spent to-date.

Building commenced on the new general hospital at Beaumont in March 1978 and it is expected that it will be completed towards the end of 1982.

The total cash allocation for the project from its commencement in 1978 to date is £13.4 million and this is also the expenditure on the scheme to date.
