asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will instruct the permanent delegation at the United Nations to support fully the draft resolution in the Third Committee of the United Nations concerning El Salvador; and if he will ensure that Ireland's influence in the Security Council will be used to the full in supporting this resolution.

I can assure the Deputy that, on my instructions, our delegation to the United Nations General Assembly was actively involved in informal discussions on the drafting of a resolution dealing with human rights in El Salvador. The delegation will give its full support to the draft resolution which has now been tabled in the Third Committee.
