Vol. 324 No. 9

Written Answers. - Cleggan (Galway) School Transport.

277.

asked the Minister for Education if he will ensure adequate transport arrangements for all children attending Cleggan national school, County Galway (Roll No. 13821) to enable children at present not attending the school to attend.

Transport facilities to a national school may only be provided by the Department within the terms of the school transport scheme. The special transport service from the Sheeauns, Bundowlish, Ballynew and Cleggan Farm areas to Cleggan national school was withdrawn as from summer 1980 as the necessary minimum number of eligible children was not available for conveyance.

Restoration of the service may be considered only if at least 10 eligible children are available for transport in the appropriate locality.
