Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water And Sewerage Schemes.

2.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any proposals in his Department for the provision of a sewerage scheme for Walsh Island, County Offaly; if so, when it is proposed to proceed with same; and the present position in regard to the proposed scheme.

There are no proposals before my department for the provision of a sewerage scheme to serve Walsh Island.

Question No. 23 has gone for written reply.

24.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he proposes to sanction the application for £777,000 for the proposed new sewerage scheme for Buncrana, County Donegal.

Contract documents for this scheme are at present under consideration in my Department. I cannot say at this stage when I will be in a position to convey a decision thereon to the local authority. The question of finance will not arise until the scheme has been fully approved.
