asked the Taoiseach the names of the semi-State bodies or other bodies under the aegis of his Department in respect of which he exercises statutory functions.

Following is the information requested: (i) Central Statistics Office; (ii) An Comhairle Ealaion (The Arts Council); (iii) Law Reform Commission; (iv) National Board for Science and Technology; and (v) Local Appointments Commission.

asked the Minister for Energy the names of the semi-State bodies or other bodies under the aegis of his Department in respect of which he exercises statutory functions.

Minister For Energy (Mr. Colley)

Following are the names of the bodies under the aegis of my Department in respect of which I exercise statutory functions-Electricity Supply Board; Bord na Mona; Bord Gáis Éireann; Nuclear Energy Board; Mining Board.

Although the functions which I exercise in relation to the Irish National Petroleum Corporation — a State company registered under the Companies Acts — are non-statutory, they are, in practice, the same as for the other bodies listed above.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the names of the semi-State bodies or other bodies under the aegis of his Department in respect of which he exercise statutory responsibility.

An Board Scoláireachtai Cómalairte (The Scholarship Exchange Board) is the only body for which I have statutory responsibility. The Agency for Personal Service Overseas (APSO) and GORTA are other bodies which, although under the aegis of my Department, are limited liability companies, incorporated under the Companies Act 1963.

The names of the bodies referred to by the Deputy are as follows: Industrial Development Authority, Nítrigin Éireann Teoranta, Bord Fáilte Éireann, Córas Tráchtála, Institute for Industrial Research and Standards, Irish Steel Ltd., Shannon Free Airport Development Company Ltd., Ceimici Teoranta, Min Fhéir (1959) Teo., National Prices Commission, Restrictive Practices Commission, An Coimisiún Dumpála, Credit Union Advisory Committee, Merchandise Marks Commission.

This list does not include bodies in respect of which specific legislation does not exist.

The bodies, under the aegis of my Department in respect of which I exercise statutory functions are: the Garda Síochána, the Superior Courts Rules Committee, the Circuit Court Rules Committee, the District Court Rules Committee, the Registration of Title Rules Committee, an Bord Uchtála, the Censorship of Publications Board, the Censorship of Publications Appeal Board, the Censorship of Films Appeal Board, the Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests, the Irish Legal Terms Advisory Committee, Comhairle na Míre Gaile. Visiting Committees to: Mountjoy Prison, Limerick Prison, Cork Prison, Arbour Hill Prison, Portlaoise Prison, the Training Unit, Shelton Abbey, St. Patrick's Institution, Shanganagh Castle.

The bodies under the aegis of my Department in respect of which I exercise statutory functions are the Agricultural Credit Corporation, the Central Bank, Fóir Teoranta, Industrial Credit Company and Irish Life Assurance Company Limited.

The information sought is as follows:— 1. The Army Pensions Board; 2. The Visiting Committee to the Military Detention Barracks, Curragh Camp.

Semi-State bodies or other bodies under the aegis of my Department in respect of which I exercise statutory functions are as follows: 1. An Comhairle Oiliúna (AnCO), 2. The Employment Equality Agency, 3. The Employment Appeals Tribunal, 4. The Levy Appeal Tribunal, 5. The Labour Court, 6. The Factories Advisory Council, 7. The Office Premises Advisory Council, 8. The Mines and Quarries Advisory Council, 9. Joint Labour Committees, as follows: Aerated Waters and Wholesale Bottling, Agricultural Workers, Boot and Shoe Repairing, Brush and Broom, Button Making, Catering (outside Dublin and Dún Laoghaire Boroughs), General Waste Materials Reclamation, Hairdressing (Cork County Borough), Hairdressing (Dublin, Dún Laoghaire and Bray), Handkerchief and Household Piece Goods, Hotels (outside Dublin, Dún Laoghaire and Cork Boroughs), Law Clerks, Messengers (Cork City area), Messengers (Dublin City and Dún Laoghaire), Messengers (Limerick City), Messengers (Waterford City), Provender Milling, Shirt Making, Tailoring, Women's Clothing and Millinery.

CERT Ltd has not been included in the above list as the Minister's functions are not laid down by statute. The Minister has certain functions under the Memorandum and the Articles of Association of CERT Ltd.

The only body under the aegis of my Department in respect of which I exercise statutory functions is the Public Service Advisory Council.

There are no semi-State bodies as envisaged in the question under the aegis of my Department.
