asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

A reconstruction grant and a sewerage grant will be paid when an inspection confirms that work has been satisfactorily completed. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

Reconstruction and water-sewerage grants will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in dealing with the application of a person (details supplied) in County Galway, who applied for a home improvement grant in 1979; and if he is aware that the applicant sent three registered letters to his Department in relation to the application, and has not received an acknowledgement to date.

The file in this case is at present out for final inspection and the full details of the case are, accordingly, not available. The inspection in question will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a home improvement grant and a solid fuel grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

It is assumed that the question relates to applications by the person named but having a slightly different address from that given by the Deputy. The grants will be paid when inspection confirms that the work has been satisfactorily completed and payment is in order.

Any delay that has arisen in dealing with these cases is due to the huge number of applications being processed at present by my Department.

Any delay in dealing with this case is due to the huge number of applications being processed at present in my Department. The grant will be paid when the necessary inspection has been carried out and my Department's inspector certifies that payment is in order. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway who applied about 18 months ago.

There has been no undue delay by my Department in the case. The file is with the local inspector and payment will be made on receipt of his report, provided the conditions of payment have been met.
