asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephone service will be restored to an applicant (details supplied) in County Dublin in view of the fact that they have been without service for three weeks now, and were without service for most of August and September 1980.

Service has been restored. A section of overhead cable serving the subscriber which was prone to damage has been replaced.

asked the Minister for posts and telegraphs when telephone service will be restored to a business premises (details supplied) in County Dublin whose telephone has been out of order for the past fortnight.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a transfer of telephone service will be provided for an applicant (details supplied) in County Dublin who applied for it 12 months ago.

It is expected that service will be provided within the next four months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow who has been waiting 5½ years.

Service to this applicant is dependent on the provision of cabling which is expected will be completed about mid-1981.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the mobile telephone exchange at Bray, County Wicklow will be brought into service; and if he will indicate the number awaiting telephone service from the exchange and the projected dates of connections.

A mobile telephone exchange at Bray has been brought into service. There are about 530 applicants awaiting service. Service will be provided progressively over the next year or so as cabling is carried out in the area.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephone service will become operative for the residents of Glenlucan Estate, Bray, County Wicklow.

It is expected that service will be provided during the second half of 1981.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a transfer of telephone service will be effected for an applicant (details supplied) in County Wicklow who has an acute disability.

It is expected that service will be provided within the next two months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the micro-links for (1) Arklow-Dublin (2) Wicklow-Dublin and (3) Arklow-Wicklow will become operative; and if he will indicate the available capacities and the improvements anticipated for subscribers.

All three microwave links will be in service by March next. The initial available capacity of the links will be as follows: Arklow-Dublin, 60 circuits; Wicklow-Dublin, 108 circuits; Arklow-Wicklow, 60 circuits.

The links will provide an improved trunk call service and will help reduce congestion which may on occasions have been encountered on these routes. Each link will have an eventual capacity of 960 circuits and these will be brought into service progressively as traffic requirements dictate.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when transfer of telephone service will be effected for a business firm (details supplied) in County Wicklow.

Service is dependent on the provision of cabling which it is expected will be completed within the next three months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that there are no telephones in Neilstown shopping centre, Clondalkin, County Dublin and that this is severely hindering business; and if in the circumstances he will arrange for the supply of telephones in the near future.

Service to this area is dependent on the provision of cabling which it is expected will be completed about mid-1981.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has any plans to provide additional public telephones in the vast area of Clondalkin (North) including Rowlagh, St. Marks, Moorfield, Ronanstown and Neilstown, and if he is prepared to discuss the locations with the local residents' association.

My Department propose to provide four additional telephone kiosks in the Clondalkin (North) area. It is expected these will be provided next year. Officials of my Department plan to meet representatives of the local residents' association shortly to discuss the proposed kiosks for the area.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if a telephone service will be provided urgently for a business (details supplied) in Dublin in view of the fact that this business is seriously affected by the absence of this service.

Service to this applicant is dependent on the provision of cabling which it is expected will be completed about mid-1981.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants awaiting telephone service in Willington Estate, Templeogue, Dublin 12; and when service will be provided.

There are 29 waiting applicants. It had been expected that service would be provided when the necessary cabling was completed about mid-1981 but because of difficulties in securing a site for a new exchange in the area, it is unlikely that it will now be possible to provide service for some time after that.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants awaiting telephone service in Glendown Estate, Templeogue, Dublin 12; and when service will be provided.

There are 18 waiting applicants. It had been expected that service would be provided when the necessary cabling was completed about mid-1981, but because of difficulties in securing a site for a new exchange, provision of service is now dependent also on the new exchange being available and this is likely to take another year or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants awaiting telephone service in the Rushbrook/Kennington estates, Templeogue, Dublin 12; and when service will be provided.

The numbers are about 170 in Rushbrook estate and about 110 in Kennington estate. Because of a shortage of equipment at the local automatic exchange it is unlikely that service will be offered to applicants in these areas for at least another year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants awaiting telephone service in the Rossmore estate, Templeogue, Dublin 12; and when service will be provided.

There are about 200 applicants awaiting telephone service in the area. Service will be provided shortly after the opening of a new exchange which is expected to be completed about mid-1981.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk will be installed at Knockmore estate, Tallaght, County Dublin.

It is expected that a kiosk will be provided at Knockmore estate in the first half of next year.

It is expected that an additional kiosk to serve Killinarden estate will be provided in the first half of 1981.
