Due to prior engineering commitments in County Donegal, the earliest the Commissioners of Public Works could expect to commence work at Cladnagerragh pier would be 1982.

The improvement works planned for Port-na-Blagh pier entail the construction of a landing stage and breakwater, resurfacing of pier-deck, provision and installation of leading lights and mooring rings. The Commissioners of Public Works expect to be in a position to commence these works in 1982.
