asked the Minister for Agriculture the date that a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny can expect payment of a farm grant passed since October, 1980.

The work in this case was only certified recently. The grant will be paid when normal processing procedures have been completed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the number of farmers who were paid cattle headage grants for 1980 as at 31 December, 1980; and the number then outstanding.

At 31 December 1980 grants had been paid to 49,005 applicants under the cattle headage payments scheme leaving 16,804 applications remaining to be dealt with. Processing of these remaining applications is proceeding.

asked the Minister for Agriculture (a) the number of applicants under the scheme for fertiliser subsidy for winter feed; and (b) the number of persons who have been paid the subsidy to date.

To date (a) 23,000 claims for fertiliser subsidy have been received in my Department and (b) 12,000 of these have been paid. It is expected that the remainder will be paid by the end of February. It is estimated that there may be a further 2,500 claims having attention in ACOT offices throughout the country.
