It is not possible at this time to provide a figure for 1981 or 1981-82 because it will be some time before an estimate of the population for 1981 becomes available. The estimated income tax receipt for 1981, as recently published in the Estimates of Receipts and Expenditure for the year ending 31 December 1981, is £1,210 million.
