Vol. 326 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Churchill Tank.

33.

asked the Minister for Defence if the Ulster Folk Museum will be allowed to recover the buried Churchill tank.

The old Churchill tank which was buried in the Glen of Imaal had no gun or internal equipment and could more accurately be described as a scrap hull. I am advised that its recovery would be dangerous and expensive and that, even if it were recovered, it would not be suitable as a museum exhibit.

The remaining questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper.
