Vol. 326 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Glassagh River (Donegal) Drainage.

31.

asked the Minister for Finance the proposals his Department have for the early drainage of the Glassagh river which is a tributary of the Lennon river, County Donegal; and if, in view of the positive proposals submitted by the Lennon Farmers' Committee being considered by Donegal County Council, he will make a statement on the possible reconsideration of the early drainage of the Lennon river.

Drainage of the Glassagh River could be carried out by the Commissioners of Public Works only by way of a comprehensive scheme for the Lennon catchment area under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945. The catchment has been noted for consideration in the drainage programme but I cannot say when it may be reached.
