The percentages are (a) 39 per cent and (b) 40 per cent.
In relation to the income tax figure, it should be noted that the Post Office dispute delayed the collection of some income tax receipts from 1979 to 1980. The 1980 receipts also benefited from the bringing forward of the date of payment of tax in the case of the self-employed other than full-time farmers.
