Vol. 326 No. 3

Written Answers. - Travelling Expenses Reduction.

41.

asked the Minister for the Public Service how he expects to effect a reduction of £12,000 in the amount spent on travelling expenses by the Civil Service Commission in 1981.

Expenditure in 1980 on this subhead was exceptionally high because a greater number than usual of the commission's interview boards sat in provincial areas. The allocation shown in the Book of Estimates conforms to the overall allocations decided by the Government and the necessary steps will be taken to ensure that they will not be exceeded.
