Vol. 326 No. 3

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Cheques.

109.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in Dublin is convinced that certain of the social welfare cheques alleged to have been cashed by her were not in fact cashed by her and that she is anxious for a Garda inquiry into the matter; and if he will now agree to such an inquiry.

The question of non-receipt of eight disability benefit cheques, which issued to the person concerned in 1978 has been referred to the Garda for investigation. The Deputy was notified to this effect on 12 January 1981. The case will be reviewed when the Garda report is received.
