The cost of relief on all interest was estimated at £30 million in 1979-80, of which approximately £20 million is in respect of mortgage interest and £10 million in respect of interest on personal borrowings.
The cost in 1980-81 is tentatively estimated at £36 million, of which £24 million is in respect of mortgage interest and £12 million in respect of interest on personal borrowings.
