My Department have a number of improvement schemes for fishery harbours and landing places in County Waterford under consideration. Engineering reports have been sought in those cases but it is not expected that any expenditure will be incurred in 1981.
Would the Minister let me know the location of the works in question?
Yes, and I can give the Deputy information on the individual cases if he wishes. The locations are Dunmore East, Helvick, Ardmore, Dunbratten, Villierstown, Dromore, Cooneen, Ballynaclash, Stradbally Cove, Knockmahon, Tramore Boat Cove, Ballymacaw, Passage East, Checkpoint I and Checkpoint II.
Why is money not being spent at these locations in 1981?
Either we are awaiting reports from the OPW or awaiting a report from the survey team giving their recommendations.
That survey was carried out eight years ago. Is it not about time that the survey team reported?
We have priorities listed and in each of these cases the report from the OPW is awaited.

No. Taking the instance of Dunmore East, consideration is being given to dredging to a design depth of nine feet, the harbour at 14 feet and 17 feet at the auction hall. That is not a matter that can be decided overnight.

This whole thing has been going on since 1972 and virtually all the projects which the Minister mentioned were surveyed at that time. Why has a report not been given?
In every case we are awaiting a report from the Office of Public Works.
When does the Minister expect that report?
I do not know. If the Deputy wishes the individual case to be examined I will have it looked at.
I would like a general report on the whole lot.
