Vol. 326 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Post Office.

43.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will outline his Department's proposals for the provision of new accommodation for the engineering section of the Post Office in Waterford city; and the proposed location of such accommodation.

Work is in progress on a new area engineering headquarters at Tycor on the outskirts of Waterford city. This will accommodate engineering construction and maintenance staff. The question of providing a new office block to cater for other telecommunications staff in Waterford, including local engineering management staff, is under consideration.

How soon does the Minister expect a decision?

Quite soon.
