(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Cavan is an applicant for a home improvement grant; if so, the date on which he applied; if and when the job will be inspected; and when payment of the grant will be made.

The person named applied for house improvement grants in July 1979. Grants have not been approved as my Department have been awaiting the receipt of detailed drawings and evidence of planning permission relating to the proposed works, originally requested in August 1979 and subsequently.

In order to qualify for payment of grants the work must be completed and payment claimed not later than 31 March 1981.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Cavan is an applicant for a home reconstruction grant; if so, the date on which he applied; the amount of the grant allocated; and when it is proposed to inspect the work and pay the grant.

My Department have no record of a grant application from the person named.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Cavan has applied for a home improvement grant; if so, the date on which he applied; and whether a grant has been sanctioned in this case.

The person named has not applied to my Department for a house improvement grant but a person of the same address and a different surname applied for an essential repairs grant to Cavan County Council, who have notified my Department of the grant approval. Notification of satisfactory completion of the work and claim for payment are awaited from the council.
