Vol. 327 No. 4

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

294.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in the installation of a telephone for a person (details supplied) in south west Cork who applied about three-and-a-half years ago; and whether he can now expect early installation.

Because of the volume of engineering work requiring attention in the area it was not possible to attend to the linework involved in providing service in this case earlier. Service will be provided within about two months of completion of an agreement, the terms of which were quoted to him recently.

295.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if a site has been selected to provide a telephone kiosk at Glencorrib, Shrule, County Mayo; if approval for the site has been obtained; and when he expects that the kiosk will be brought into service.

It is proposed to provide a telephone kiosk at Glencorrib, Shrule, County Mayo. A suitable site is being sought and a kiosk will be provided as soon as possible after the necessary consents are obtained.

296.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a public telephone kiosk at Ballyshoneen Cross, Berrings, County Cork.

The needs of the area are regarded as adequately met by the existing kiosk at Berrings and the provision of an additional one is not regarded as warranted.
